4–12. Capitularies of Charlemagne and Louis the Pious

Created in Rheims at a scriptorium associated with Charles the Bald (emperor 840–77). The capitularies is a compilation of law codes assembled by Ansegisus, abbot of Saint Wandrille, in 827 ce. The text is in Caroline minuscule with headings in rustic and a version of square capitals.
